Female, 4 years old , 44lbs.
Dixie is an adorable, sweet and affectionate little land hippo! She can be a bit timid in new situations (the car, new neighborhood, new routine, etc.) but adjusted quickly to the new surroundings and routine. Belly rubs are her jam, along with treats and meeting new people! Bonus, she’s got some pretty adorable snorts and snores too! To really take in all of Dixie’s adorable personality, you really need to meet her in person.
Dixie spent some time with a foster in their home and did well in her crate and goes in without any issues and sleeps quietly overnight or during the day when left alone for an hour or two. She is easy to walk on leash, and while she does want to chase the squirrels and bikes, she is easily redirected. Dixie’s foster took her on a walk along the iron horse trail and reports she did great walking past people/dogs/scooters/etc. When dogs bark at her she does not react, and has seemed curious to meet well-behaved dogs she has come across, although she has not had any up close meetings.
Dixie rides great in the car once she’s situated in a safe spot, it took a few minutes for her to trust her foster to get her out of the car, but by the third car ride she was already much more comfortable with the process.
